Movies for Sunday April 25, 2010

April 25th is Red Hat Society Day; The Red Hat Society is the largest women's social group in the world and is an organization founded for women approaching the age of 50 and beyond. With Red Hat Society Day in mind, the theme will be based on the acting career of movie, television and theatre actress Gloria Stuart who is one of the oldest actresses still working in the industry with her latest Oscar performance for the film "Titanic" at the age of 87 years old-enjoy!

1 Titanic (1997) Director James Cameron
Academy Award winning film about two young lovers (Leonardo DiCaprio & Kate Winslet) who meet their fate upon the ill fated ship; Won several Oscars including Best Picture & Best Director; was also nominated for a number of Academy Awards including Best Actress for Kate Winslet and Best Actress in a Supporting Role for Gloria Stuart as one of the last remaining survivors of the Titanic...

2 The Invisible Man (1933) Director James Whale
Story about a scientist (Claude Rains) who experiments with becoming invisible which starts to impact his mind...

3 My Favorite Year (1982) Director Richard Benjamin
Tells the story of a young junior writer (Mark Linn-Baker) for a hit TV show of the fifties who tries to keep his film idol (Peter O'Toole) from being kicked off the show...

As I have seen all but one film from the above list (The Invisible Man) I look forward to your feedback... enjoy!
