On February 16 2010 Howard Winchel Koch died in Hollywood California. He
was an American Director and Producer of Motion Pictures and was also
responsible for producing the Academy Awards eight times, and served as
the President of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences in the
late seventies. With this accomplished career in mind, the theme for
today will be pictures by Howard Koch... enjoy!
1 The Odd Couple (1968) Director Gene Saks
Comedy
about two friends who end up sharing an apartment together, only to
realize how different they are-Jack Lemmon and Walter Matthau are great
in their lead roles...
2 The Manchurian Candidate (1962) Director John Frankenheimer
Interesting
political thriller about a man who is brainwashed to become an
assassin-Angela Lansbury is stellar as the villain, which won her an
Oscar Nomination.
3 Ghost (1990) Director Jerry Zucker
After
being killed in a robbery, a man (Patrick Swayze) comes back to visit
his wife (Demi Moore)as a ghost-Whoopi Goldberg is charming as the
clairvoyant, which won her an Academy Award for her performance...
I hope the above picks prove entertaining cinema... enjoy!
